Below are some of the area golf courses in southeastern Brunswick County and local weather:
Brunswick Plantation Golf and Country Club
3-9 hole courses:Magnolia, Dogwood, Azalea.
The Magnolia Course, our first nine, is reminiscent of the links of Scotland where golf first originated. Extensive mounding, along with large sand and grass bunkers, present challenges you will enjoy.
Water comes into play on three holes and three more are heavily bunkered, so hazards are a key element of the opening holes. Designed by Willard Byrd and Clyde Johnson, the Azalea Course is carved from thick, Carolina woodlands, offering a beautiful and serene setting. The Dogwood Course meanders along the waters of the Caw Caw Creek among majestic, dense hardwood trees and natural coastal terrain.
Ocean Ridge Plantation Golf and Country Club
4-18 hole courses: Panthers Run, Lions Paw, Leopard's Chase, Tiger's Eye. In Panther’s Run, Architect Tim Cate created a spectacular layout that winds its way throughout a massive and pristine nature preserve. Featuring generous landing areas and immaculately manicured MiniVerde greens installed in 2010. Lion’s Paw Golf Links is heralded as architect Willard Byrd’s finest work. Approaching the first tee. you’ll find it hard to describe the excitement you feel as you get set to encounter this masterful layout. Tiger’s Eye is an upscale, daily fee course carved from a virgin pine forest. The course is distinguished by dramatic elevation changes, reminiscent of the North Carolina sandhills. Tiger’s Eye is a thinking person’s course, requiring precision shot-making and a reliable short game.
Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club
3-9 hole courses: Sand, Piper and Bay.The Sand Course is one of Sandpiper Bay’s two original nines and features gentle dog legs, elevated tees and greens, cut through a natural pine forest. The second of Sandpiper Bay’s original two nines, the Piper Course also features gentle dog legs and elevated tees and greens. The
combination of three par 3 holes and three par 5 holes offers players several options on the risk/reward par 5s, and chances to shoot
for the pins on the par 3s. Look for many great birdie chances when putting on our MiniVerde greensThe newest of Sandpiper Bay’s three nines, the Bay Course has more water features than the Sand or Piper courses. The ponds are
strategically placed to make you think, and perhaps take a chance, while creating just three forced carries..
Sea Trail Plantation Golf and Country Club
3-18 hole courses: Jones, Byrd and Maple.
Players of all skill levels will enjoy an extraordinary golf experience on this straightforward golf course with typical Jones bounding. Wide fairways and large mounds are surrounded by water, with water coming into play on 11 holes of the Par 72 championship course. Built around several man-made lakes, each ranging from 14-20 acres, every hole of this par-72 signature course requires a distinctly difference approach. Strategically placed tee shots are essential for successful play on Byrd's undulating greens. Twisted ancient oaks and tall Carolina pines define each hole on the beautiful par 72 course, still regarded as one of Maples finest. This one-of-a-kind course has newly renovated A1/A4 blended Bent grass greens and boasts five hole numerous waste bunkers, one of which extends the full length of a fairway.
